2010 SEASON CODE OF CONDUCT
 
Carmel Valley Dons Football & Cheer Association (“CVDONS”) will not tolerate verbal abuse of its volunteers from any fan, parent or spectator.
CVDONS is not a professional sports association. Fans, as well as the players and coaches, are expected to abide by this code of conduct at all CVDONS events, whether home or away games, cheer competition, etc.
While 99% of the adults in the program will abide by this code without being told, this code is being published to protect the children and volunteers (which include’s all team personnel (coaches and team parents) and board members) from the remaining 1%.
 
CONDUCT AS IT RELATES TO USE OF CATHEDRAL CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL
I will respect and obey the rules and regulations set by the administration of Cathedral Catholic High School, at all times.
In the event that I arrive at the practice fields and/or home games, and the students/parents of Cathedral Catholic
High School are using the field, I will not intrude upon the fields and/or disrupt the student activities
I agree to the following:
􀂆I will not chew gum while on school property
􀂆I will not eat sunflower seeds while on the school property
􀂆I will not bring my pet(s) to school property
􀂆I will not bring large canopies to the field on either practice and/or home game days
􀂆I will not bring barbecues to the practice fields and/or home game days
􀂆I will work to ensure that Cathedral Catholic High School is in the same and/or better condition than it was when I arrived on campus, where possible
I agree to have my bags, coolers and/or person searched, at any time, while on the school premises (especially game days)
I agree to participate in two “Volunteer” days, if requested, during the season wherein I agree to work with other members of CVDONS at the direction of the Cathedral Catholic High School Administration.
 
CONDUCT OF ALL PARTICIPANTS AND PARENT – PARENTS
All players are guaranteed a minimum mandatory number of plays in each Jamboree, Regular Season or Playoff game. The numbers vary depending on the size of the team and/or players present and ready to play the football game. This number can be obtained from your head coach prior to the start of the season. Anything above and beyond the minimum mandatory number of plays must be earned in the opinion of the coaching staff whose decisions are final.
 
ATHLETE’S CODE OF CONDUCT
I will emphasize the ideals of sportsmanship, ethical conduct and fair play. I will show courtesy to my opponents and officials. I will recognize athletic contests are serious educational endeavors. I will give complete allegiance to my coaches who are the instructional authority for my team. I will discourage fans, fellow players and parents from undercutting my coach’s authority. I will follow the rules and regulations established by my team, theAssociation and SDYFCC at all times. I will not use profanity or talk "trash" before, during or after any game. I will not use drugs, alcohol, or tobacco. I will not criticize my teammates or act in any way that may incite spectators.
 
PARENT’S CODE OF CONDUCT
I will support my child’s team/squad and teach the value of commitment to the team/squad – emphasis the ideals of sportsmanship, ethical conduct and fair play. I will help my child and CVDONS make athletic contests a positive educational experience. I will show courtesy to opponents and officials. I will direct constructive criticism of my child’s athletic program to the athletic director or association officials and work toward a positive result for all concerned.
I will not criticize officials, direct abuse or profane language toward them, or otherwise subvert their authority; I will not undermine, in work or deed, the authority of the coach or administration; nor will intrude onto the field, stand on the sideline, or yell from the bleachers at or to the coaches, referees or administration; I will do my best to remain at practice during practice hours and/or pick up my child/ren on time from practices.
 
I agree to return any equipment loaned to me and/or my child during the season at the requested time(s) and understand that failure to return the equipment may result in notification to the police and/or a collection agency that the equipment has not been returned. I agree to reimburse the Association for the actual replacement cost of any missing items brought to my attention.
I will adhere to, and help enforce the rules and regulations established by my team, the Association and/or SDYFCC.
 
 
 
 
 
FAN CODE OF CONDUCT
Fans, at any CVDONS football games regardless of location, will abide by a Code of Conduct which includes the following provisions.
Fans shall:
Not criticize the players/cheerleaders or coaches in front of the other spectators in the stands, but reserve constructive criticism for later, in private.
Accept decisions of the game officials (including referees and coaches) on the field as being fair and called to the best ability of said officials.
Not criticize an opposing team, its players, coaches, or fans by word of mouth or by gesture.
Refrain from using physical or verbal abuse or profane language at any time at the game, practice field, or other CVDONS functions.
Abstain from being under the influence of or in possession of and/or drinking alcoholic beverages and the possession or use of any illegal substance on both the game and practice fields.
Not be allowed on the sidelines during a game.
Not interfere or interrupt the coaching staff before, during or after games or at practice.
Not express complaints about coaches in stands or to coaches in front of or around the children (i.e. right after a game or practice).
 
If any of these rules are broken, CVDONS shall have the authority to impose a penalty.
 
VIOLATION from any parent or fan who violates the code of conduct risks the further participation of the child in theprogram. Ramifications of code of conduct violation include, but are not limited to, the following:
 
Any fan that violates the code of conduct or becomes a nuisance may be asked to leave by the head coach and/or the Association and may be suspended from all team activities.
If the fan fails to leave upon request, the child may be suspended from further participation in team activities by the head coach.
The head coach along with the Association Executive Board will decide if the duration of the suspension is to be longer than one to four weeks or if the child will be dropped from the program. The decision will depend on the attitude of the parents.
Any parent or fan that violates the code of conduct risks the future participation of his/her children in the program. Depending on the severity of the incident the Association board of directors may decide to ban future participation in the program for up to three years. I have read and understand the CVDONS 2009 Season Code of Conduct prior to the start of any registration paperwork.
