CVDONS emphasize scholastics as well as athletic involvement. Our program follows strict academic guidelines throughout the entire season. This season, we are expecting over 150 children to participate in our program from the Carmel Valley and surrounding area.
We believe ACADEMICS and ATHLETICS must be the foundation of our organization: therefore our children, in order to participate, must have a Scholastic requirement of 70% and/or 2.0 Grade Point Average (GPA). Our goal is to produce a well-rounded community oriented young adult that will eventually become our future.
We look forward to recognizing our 2009/10 Scholar Athletes. Please encourage your athlete to strive for the very best grades. This is important for setting the stage as they move towards their high school, college and life experiences.
Each season the best of the best are recognized, those in particular that achieve a GPA of 3.6 or better are eligible for scholarships and other rewards. Even national recognition!
Athletes in all divisions are required to present report cards to the Education Director.

BASIC FUNDAMENTALS AND ACADEMICS:
In order to become a good football player or cheerleader you must first master the basic fundamentals of the game. In football, such skills as basic tackling and blocking as well as throwing, catching, and becoming a student of the game. Players and coaches must strive to learn as much about the game as we possibly can. Along with this, our players must make it their personal goals to master their school work and not neglect their academic studies. Our objective as a program is to prepare our players for the next level of play, be it the next age and weight level or high school football. However, bringing a player to the next level is not possible without the proper academic standings.
